Parents Information

At Clover Leaf Nursery, we provide a happy, warm & safe learning environment. We encourage independent learning and support child-led activities in a stimulating and diverse environment. A child's personal, social and emotional development is considered one of the most important areas of development within their early years.

Our Values & Curriculum

The admission process begins by completing a registration form, providing all required documentation and payment of the one-time registration fee. We ONLY offer 5 days a weekly schedule. The part-time option is not available.

Once the application process has been completed, a start date will be agreed upon. It is important to notify the nursery of ANY changes to contact details (phone numbers, email addresses, emergency contact names/numbers, etc.)

Daily Schedule

The daily schedule is full of educational and fun activities, providing a complete and well-rounded learning experience. Each parent will be given a class schedule. Adherence to the schedule will be encouraged, with possible changes from time to time.

Everyone must arrive at the nursery no later than 8:30 am every day. Late arrival disrupts all children in the class.

Opening Hours

The Nursery is open throughout the year except for the following holidays:

  • Eid al Fitr
  • Eid al Adha
  • National Day
  • National Sports Day
  • Winter Break
  • Spring Break
  • Summer Break

The Nursery's opening hours are SUNDAY to THURSDAY as follows:
Normal Hours - 7am - 3pm
Sunrise Club - 6:30am - 7am
Sunset Club - 3pm - 4pm

Outdoor Play

We have two large, secure outdoor play areas where children may engage in many activities. Activities will be organized to enhance and extend the child's learning experience. All outdoor play facilities are regularly checked and maintained to ensure a fun and safe environment at all times.

Please be sure to send your children sun hats and sun cream. Sun Cream provided by the parents will be applied frequently and the children will be encouraged to hydrate at regular intervals.

In case of excessively hot (or cold) days, outdoor play will be avoided.

Security & Collections

The safety of your children is our TOP priority, and in line with this ONLY authorized adults listed on the application form will be permitted to collect your child.

Camera Access

Cameras are positioned in all areas of the nursery. Parents will be granted access to their child's classrooms only.

The nursery must be notified if your child is going to be absent, including on vacation, etc. A notification by calling before 8:00 am on the day of absence is required.

We understand that sickness and other unexpected events occur from time to time, but unfortunately, no adjustment will be made to fees.

If you keep your child away for more than 5 days without notification, you will lose your place at the nursery and your place will be given to the next individual on the waiting list. Your child will then be placed back on the waiting list if you wish to return at a later date.

Illness Infection Control

In the best interest of all of our children, any sick child will not be allowed to attend the nursery.

Please keep your child at home if they have the symptoms below:

  • Fever
  • Runny nose
  • Cough
  • Hand, Foot & Mouth disease
  • Head lice

If a child develops a fever or is unwell, a parent or authorized person will be contacted to collect the child within an hour. The child will not be allowed to return to the nursery until the child has been fever free for a minimum of 24 hours. This will require a doctor's note with a clear diagnosis and if/when your child is fit to return.

Our full-time, on-site nurse, will check temperatures at drop-off and 12:30 daily.

Please inform us of any accidents outside the nursery, and we shall inform you as well.

If your child is taking Paracetamol/ Brufen for reducing fever, your child is NOT well enough to attend the nursery.

In the event of Head Lice, please do NOT bring your child to the nursery until your child has been successfully treated and cleared. This will also require a doctor's note before a return as head lice can spread rapidly in a nursery environment.

All COVID-19 Protocols will be observed according to the Ministry of Public

Medicine Administration

Only our full-time nurse on-site will administer all prescribed medications.

If your child is on prescribed medication(s), we will need a signed consent form on file. The medication must have a proper label showing the name of the child. We cannot administer medication prescribed for another child.

Written permission is required for emergency treatment of chronic conditions such as asthma, where inhalers may need to be administered.

If a child has to be taken to the hospital for any reason, you will be notified immediately, and one member of the onsite medical team will accompany them at all times until the parent/authorized person arrives.

Clothing and Belongings

Children should come to the nursery dressed in play clothes and closed-toe soft shoes suitable for outdoor play. Belts and buckles on the clothing should be avoided. We encourage independence during toileting so easily removable (pull-down, pull-up) clothing is preferred.

Please do NOT allow your child to bring jewellery, money or their toys as they may get lost or broken. However, any blankets that make them feel more secure are encouraged.

Parents must provide:

  • Nappies
  • Nappy cream
  • Wipes
  • Spare clothing

ALL belongings must be marked with your child’s name and replenished, refilled or replaced when necessary.

Toilet Training Policy

We are happy to assist parents in Toilet training, however, we do ask that your child already be practising at home for at least 2 months prior and that you send your child with pull-ups.

Meals and Diet

We follow a strict NO NUT POLICY. Please check all food labels to ensure they do not contain nuts. The nursery must be informed of any food allergies.

We encourage healthy eating, therefore: NO fizzy drinks, NO chocolates, NO sweets, and NO crisps will be accepted at the nursery.

Ideas for healthy snacks/lunches include: Sandwiches with healthy fillings, Fresh Fruit or Salad, and Chopped Vegetables (cucumbers, carrot sticks, etc.)

Please ensure your child is sent to the nursery with a water bottle every day. This will be refilled when needed throughout the day.

We are happy to have a small Birthday celebration for your child in his/her classroom.

Please just coordinate with the nursery staff at least one week ahead of time.

*Please note - there will be many birthday celebrations throughout the year. If you do not wish for your child to have a cupcake at these celebrations for medical or general health reasons, you need to inform a member of the classroom team.

Behaviour Management

Here at Clover Leaf Nursery, we are focused on positive discipline. We reinforce "GOOD" behaviour. We encourage children to respect themselves, each other and their belongings.

Behaviours that we have a ZERO tolerance policy for are:

Biting, hitting, punching, pinching, scratching, kicking, pushing, bullying, spitting, screaming, etc.

Should we feel that your child is exhibiting consistent poor behaviour, we will speak with parents individually to try to find ways to correct the behaviour.

Our teachers are all experienced and qualified childcare practitioners and are all dedicated to bringing the very best out of the children.

In addition to the teaching staff, we employ a fully qualified medical nurse, and the premises are kept safe by a full-time security guard.

Emergency Procedures

The safety of your children and our staff is paramount.

Evacuation

In the event of a fire, or other emergency requiring evacuation of the nursery, we have a comprehensive evacuation procedure that will be implemented immediately.

All stall members are fully trained on evacuation procedures and evacuation drills are carried out throughout the year.
